I bought Braid right away, I very much like artsy/weird/unusual games.

It has fun platforming and time-manipulating elements, like Super Mario World with some Prince of Persia powers. I wouldn't recommend it to everybody but I enjoy it a lot.
Figuring out how to get some of the pieces will twist your brain in unholy, Kafka-esque directions.

PS: I hate people that use the phrase "Kafka-esque"

I agree whole-heartedly with the "catheter-esque" statement!! HEE HEE!

What do you think of the game REV? Is it "big" enough to pay 1200??

For all of the XBLA games that I have, I wish I could trade some in for a hundred or some points to pick this game up for a discount! Pipe dream?? (MS are you out there??)

I just don't want to pay $15 for a game that starts a new "spend trend" for arcade titles!

I fear change!! lol It's not the price, it's the inflation.

After you have completed each world Mario-style, the only things left to do are go back to collect all puzzle pieces via time-manipulation & platforming puzzles, and the speed runs.

The way this game is, with an artsy atmosphere and graphics that had a lot of time & care put in to them, it doesn't really lend itself well to "speed running," I wouldn't think; the replay factor is pretty low.

So, if you are looking for gobs of pure gameplay or money:time value, Braid is very likely not something you'd be interested in. Braid is to platforming what Rez is to shooters--it has some similar elements but is actually a different game entirely. If you don't have the time & energy to really let the style soak in and the music wash over you as you traverse a little world and use creative problem-solving skills, save your points and grab another good title like Geo Wars 2 or wait for Bionic Commando.

I do definitely agree that the price is worrisome--the developer(s) and publisher(s) can explain it away all they want, but if Braid happens to sell well at its higher price point the way Penny Arcade & Puzzle Quest did, other potential XBLA/XNA developers aren't going to ignore it...

I bought it when it first came out, love platformers and having a blast with it...well worth the 1200 points IMO..so far completed first 2 worlds.
