Archived: Halo 3 Mythic Map Pack Release Date
The map pack will likely be available on the Xbox Live Marketplace on Thursday, April 9th. To find out how we reached that conclusion, keep reading.
The map pack will first be available to purchasers of the Halo Wars Limited Collector's Edition as quoted by bungie.net:
Should you choose to purchase the Halo Wars Limited Collector's Edition, you'll be able to play all three maps that comprise the Mythic Map Pack as soon as Halo Wars hits retail shelves in late February or early March, depending on what region you call home.
Microsoft has since confirmed Halo Wars's release date in the United States to be March 3rd, so those of you already buying Halo Wars and the hardcore among you will be able to get it as early as two weeks from now. The rest of us frugal gamers hopefully won't have to suffer too horrifically as Bungie has said:
After Halo Wars LCE hits retailers, your wait won't be too much longer than the span of time between the Gettysburg's departure for Earth to warn of the Covenant invasion and Regret's slipspace jump out of the skies above New Mombasa. Afterwards, you'll be able to plunk down 800 Marketplace Points for your very own copy of the Mythic Map Pack for Halo 3.
Those of you who are familiar with the details of the Halo story will know that the Gettysburg left for Earth September 13th, and the Prophet of Regret made his slip space jump on October 20th. That creates an estimated five weeks between the release of Halo Wars and when the map pack will be available on the Marketplace. Considering how most releases are on Tuesdays, there is a strong possibility for the pack to be available for download on April 7th.
Update: It looks like April 9th is more probable now:
Looks like we're ready to wrap up yet another week. If you're heading off to GDC, we hope to see you there. Step on up, shake our hands, but please, no creepy stuff. There's only so much antibacterial to go around at a conference of this size.
If we don't see you there, feel free to hang out around Bungie.net. We'll make sure the standard routine stays in check. You make sure you stay safe and Stay Tuned.
P.S. 04/09/09
Update 2: The April 9th release date has been confirmed.

Can you not see the repeated use of the words "likely" and "probable" within the article?
All hints from Bungie have pointed to the 9th. I'd bet my left testicle it drops the 9th.

You bet what drops? Your testicle or the maps?
Ha, that was a bad word choice. The maps.

yeah why does halo 3 have 1700 points where all others can only have 1250.
Fallout 3 is supposedly going to surpass the 1750 barrier when all of its dlc is released.
No, Fallout 3 will have 1350 when all is said and done.
Gears 2 is up to 1425 now.
When you look at Halo 3 and Gears 2 going up so high, it's obvious it's out of desperation. They're trying to get people to keep playing it. In the case of Gears, it's because Cliffy B. screwed this one up so bad no one wants to play it, so he's doing everything he can to get people to, including adding a CoD type ranking system.
It's pathetic if you ask me. Bungie needs to get off Halo's knob and make something new, that's NOT Halo related.
Cliffy B. needs to admit Gears MP blows and it always will. Any changes they make will only make it worse.

Funny... I never saw the author say it was "fact" or even insinuate it. He made it very clear this is a guess.
It always amazes me how little people on the internet are able to read. Stay in school kids.
