Activision has released the full track listing for Guitar Hero 5. There are 85 songs, 6 of which are live versions.

The game will also feature mo-capped versions of Carlos Santana and Shirley Manson (of Garbage).

I've taken every chance I've had to bash the GH series in these forums. I like Rock Band exponentially more. That said, I do like a number of the selections they've added and may give this a rent just for the likes of the artists we haven't seen yet in either of the franchises like: Grand Funk, My Morning Jacket, Dire Straits, Derek Trucks Band, Jeff Beck, Peter Frampton, Sublime, and Tom Petty. I also like the returning artists like The Raconteurs, Santana and Thin Lizzy. I just hope Harmonix gets the jump on em like they did with Kings of Leon and add some of these better artists as DLC before GH releases this. I'm still holding my breath for some Black Keys

What I didn't like about World Tour and now 5 is that they put like 10 amazing songs in it ( My opinion of music of course ) and the rest is either whatever or shit. There are more songs that I like and know in GH5 then I did in world tour though

Agreed! There is a bunch of stuff in here that should be pretty fun to play, and I do like how eclectic GH's track lists are becoming.

Overall, though, a lot of people are having "meh" reactions. I don't see this title having huge sales numbers; I think a lot of folks (me included) are just going to rent/gamefly it to plow through the careers and then swap it out for something else.

I think it's a neat idea to have avatars as an option in the game but I wish more was done with it. If you could outfit your avatar with some of the create-a-character gear it would be sweet. Recent GH games have the best spiked gauntlets I've ever seen in a game.

looking at the pics spider put up makes me want this game even more. not bc of the avatars but there are 3 guitarists and a drummer in one game!!! im really curious about the new innovations

Yeah man, you can do GH5 any way you want. 2 bassists and 2 singers, or 4 drummers, or whatever you want.

They also have a 'party' mode where you can make a setlist of up to 105 songs (from GH5 and GHWT dlc) and the game just plays by itself. You can pick up any instrument and hit a certain button, choose your difficulty, and start playing. Up to 4 people can do this, and then you can also just drop out without interrupting anyone else playing.
