GTA IV Reactions Thread

Go ahead and post how you feel about the game after your first day of playing or wait a week until you post. I only got to play for 30 minutes today and it seemed solid. Nothing new other than going bowling haha. Try to avoid posting spoilers or put up a warning if you do.

Absolutely horrible controls just like Saints Row. Other than that I like the game.

ya totally agree there, the camera sucks especially when driving omg its a pain.
the driving is a little more realistic though.
they could have done a little better with the gun controls though.
overall its not bad, a little less than what i was expecting though.

Well I been playing for a over 2 days now and I discovered a few things.

1. if your don't like the gun control go to display and change the weapon targeting to basic and it will be a basic lock a shoot format

2. Drive ever car you can it gets way easier when you know all the cars different wieghts and feel

ohhh.
question for you guys.
how much worse is this then vice city.
i really love these kind of games.
but i could never get into gta since of the nudity more, but how bad is the swearing as well?

Well if you focus on the controls alone I would have to say yes they have some suckage issues that should have been worked out a little longer along with the camera issues (they should have let the company that did the control scheme for BULLY:SD, handle this one since they now own them).

Overall the game is very very sweet, with the tiny tweaks they put in. last night (without giving too much away) I was using a sniper rifle i found laying around, on a two man patrol car. When I shot the police in the passenger side of the vehicle his partner jump back and look in shock and surprise with his eyes opening so wide.

I still have to play much more of it before i make a final grade on it.

driving isn't that bad, it's the front row view of my bumper I can't stand.

It's different from the previous versions, so kudos to Rstar for continuing to change things up.

I would have to agree that the camera/controls are taking me quite a bit of adjustment, but using the B button helps.

As far as fun, it's been pretty good so far. I even tried a little multi player action last night and I believe it will add quite a bit of replay value to the game over the next few months.

So far it's tracking between an 8 and a 9.5 total, but I have to log many more hours before making a final judgment.
