Are you talkin about metal? To me, metal is metal, rock is rock and so on and so forth. There should just be the basic genres. I dunno. Rock, Metal, Hip-hop, Country, Classical, and whatever other basic ones I'm missing.

Rap, is because it has no structure. Just some guy talking while another guy claps his hands. Now I know some rap has drums and guitar, and I respect that. But lots of rap is just a guy talking.

I mean, not to be disgusting, but you could have a guy beating off and another guy reading a poem quickly and it could be considered rap. Just my opinion.

And, techno is just because it is a bunch of synthesizers and noise.

And half of the 'music' in rap is just sampled from other 'real' music.
