Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics

sooo i keep reading all this great stuff about fallout 1 and 2, and i can get them both with fallout tactics (whatever that is?) for 25 bucks new. the thing is, i have no PC gaming knowledge whatsoever lol.

here's what i have...

windows vista home premium
AMD athlon 64X2 duel core processor 3800+
2.00 GB ram
128 MB ATI radeon x1300

and then it looks like i need...

Windows 2000/XP/Vista
Pentium 1GHz or faster
256MB RAM
32MB 3D DirectX compatible video card
DirectX compatible sound card
DVD-ROM Drive
Keyboard
Mouse

obviously i have the last 3 on the list, as well as the vista.
i have no idea what the other numbers mean though, lol.
and i also have no idea how to tell what video or sound card i have...
it's a pretty new computer though, like 2 or 3 years old.

do you guys need more info or do you think i'd be able to run it?

okay, thanks raine.
that's what i was thinking, but i remember awhile ago trying to DL arena on our old laptop and it wasn't compatible, even though it was a newer laptop. either way, i bought it lol.

okay thanks guys.
haven't heard much about tactics, so i'm not expecting much, but i can't wait to play 1 and 2.
as an adult this will be my first PC gaming experience!

i dabbled in diablo 1 and 2 when i was much younger, but that's about it.

Tell me how they are. They're not made by Bethesda (which imo are the kings of RPGs) but I've heard a lot of good stuff about the old Fallout developers and I might buy Tactics.

believe me i'll be letting you guys know what i think.
not sure if tactics is single player or not?
i've read a little bit about it and it's multiplayer this and multiplayer that.

i've also read great things about system shock 2... doesn't look so good...
and i just saw screens on planescape: torment which looks badass.
i've heard really good things about that one.

I've been wanting to get some RTS games for PC. One of my favorite games of all time is C&C: Generals, and I've heard great things about Red Alert 3 on the PC. Tried the demo on 360 and it sucked though, so I'm still thinkin about it.

alright noob, after a couple hours of playing fallout 1 i'm really digging it.
not as good as 3, but a great PC game. very diablo meets shadowrun. (the OLD shadowrun)

i've had a couple issues though. it's frozen twice now and sometimes the colors get crazy.
and once in awhile the screen turns black and i have to move my mouse around to bring sections back. kinda like the eraser in MS paint hahaha. i have no PC gaming skills so these problems are probably here to stay, but it's still a fun game.

i'd like to beat 1 before starting 2, but i'm PUMPED about it anyway hahaha.
not sure if i'll be able to beat fallout my first try though.
