how would you compare it to oblivion, cause i never played fable(1) but the new one interests me. the thing is i did'nt like oblivion at all, i thought it looked amazing i just don't have patience to ride a horse everywhere searching for things to do.

Action and fighting are really the only things that are comparable between the two (outside of the RPG elements)
Fable 1 was a MUCH smaller scale and way more linear in nature than Oblivion.

you probably can't customize your character at first.
the customization will all probably come from how you play.
good, evil, what have you.
i think fable 2 will be similar to oblivion, personally. which i'd love.
and shock, did you dislike fable because of all the hype they made up? alot of people didn't like the game because they were expecting a super morrowind, i think. i never read up on the hype, so when i first played fable it was all a surprise. a very pleasant surprise.
if that's not your thing though, give it a rent at least. i think it'll be awesome.

I have to agree with noah. It is absolutely worth a rent at least.
Yes, a lot of gamers were pissed about the first one because of the hype that surrounded the release of it. It was on the Original Xbox, and Lionhead had a wonderful idea, but couldn't realize it with the limits on the console. If they wanted to realize the potential back then, they should've made it for PC.
Skip ahead to 2008. Now Lionhead and Peter Molyneaux HAVE the power to do what they were unable to do back when the first game came out.
The only thing that I don't like is that the linear main plot is only 12hrs. or so. But I will be playing through this game AT LEAST 2 times, and side quests and grinding should put this up to about 25 hours or so per playthrough.

I know that Raine doesn't care for Mass Effect, but the last time I ran through the main story of that, it was about 10 hours from beginning to end and I was able to thoroughly enjoy that! That was worth $60 easily!
