Vivendi today announced that PC shooter F.E.A.R. is in the fast track to land on the Xbox 360. A fall 2006 release date is expected.

Though few details are known, Vivendi is saying that the game will contain "new single and multiplayer content." The new single-player experience will, according to Vivendi, "immerse the player deeper in the world of the F.E.A.R. team." Whatever that means. There's new multiplayer action, too, and the game will take full advantage of Xbox Live...great news, considering that the original PC game had phenominal deathmatch action but not nearly enough players to support the best game types.

Vivendi will be showing off F.E.A.R. on Xbox 360 at E3.

I loved this game on PC, it scarred the shit outta me. I wouldnt ever play that game at night, and you know why? because when it came to playing that game, i would turn every light on in the room and cuddle with my teddy bear while playing it. If the 360 doesnt give me that same response, then its total crap. But i doubt itll be like that, even if it is the exact same game, ill get it just because of the graphical ability of my 360 would be better than that of my pc... :(. Either way, i cant wait!!!

I played through this game on my PC, and I have to admit, the most shocking moment in video games happened in that game. It involved that creepy little girl, a ladder, and me peeing myself. It was the coolest moment I've seen in a long time that is for sure.

As far as it coming out for the 360, like always, these really great 1st person shooters usually come out way too late compared to their PC version - ie. Half Life, FarCry, and now F.E.A.R. so I usually have already played it to death and am not interested in seeing a rehash of it.

It's too bad they can't just make a continuation story onto the 360 for each of these games instead of just remaking it. That way it would entice the PC gamers to get a 360. Of course if you have both, it really doesn't matter.

Well yea, and if you figure people would rather have like to play games on a system that doesnt have to deal with graphic settings, and the people like Hockey who have an old family computer only made for surfing the web, and barely doing that well, i would say its a nice way to reach more of the market than just PC wise.
