Kotaku has said that Microsoft will begin to reimburse those with the error that had to pay in 4 - 12 weeks I believe. You should get your money back, it may just take a bit of time. Always nice to have a $100 check when you're not expecting it though.

This is really good as my primary 360 got the E 74 just a little while back.
I'm going to go through the whole rigmarole with this, sending it back and all, and I'll let you guys know how it goes.

yesterday my brother in law starting getting the overheat (2rings) but it only does it when he has WaW in. Everything else works fine. I seen some others that have had this same problem on other forums. It seems to fix it when you download WaW to the hard drive. Did this happen to anyone else and doe anyone know why? He does have the Halo edition 360 and is it in a well ventilated space
I have a halo edition 360 and I have the 2 red rings of over heat. Irritation +20 on that. $100 fix from what I know. I hope microsoft fixes this problem also with a 3 year.

I don't know specifically why W@W would cause heat problems when nothing else does, but I do strongly recommend you install any game you regularly play to your hard drive. It not only increases asset & texture loading performance but it also practically extends your console's lifetime by lowering overall heat and reducing workload on various parts in the unit.

are marketplace items bound to your GT or console?
what i mean is, Jen and i are still on our first 360.
the warranty is up, so if it dies and we get a new one, can we still download our previous purchases?
just curious.

Both. Your "Download History" is tied to your Gamertag, and you can find this under 'account management' in your console Guide.
When you are signed in to Xbox Live, you can always re-download something you have already downloaded/purchased as long as it isn't a movie rental.
But, downloads are also tied to your console specifically. This is the DRM* issue that many people have had.
It basically means that if you aren't signed into Live on your new console, you won't be able to play the full version of your Live Arcade games, they will instead show up as Trials.
-Note to everyone- to "fix" this, Microsoft has released a process & download you can do to effectively move your "license" onto a new console unit. Nowadays, this is usually done for you by them if you send your console in for something like RRoD** or E74 errors. But if it's not, or say you buy a newer, better console and just want to move all your stuff, you can sign in to Xbox.com and go here to 'migrate' your license***.
*DRM = Digital Rights Management
**RRoD = Red Ring of Death (3 blinking red lights)
***Note that you may need to register whatever console you originally used first, so keep old units around or copy down the manufacture date, serial ID, and product ID from the rear of the unit before you toss it.
