Called for a Coffin :-(

Called xbox support today for a box to send it in for repairs. I will test this route first to see how it goes. :(

If it sucks or they give me a refurbished, I may end up buying a new one.

Funny thing was the chick told me that they haven't had that many problems with them. I almost laughed out loud.

It was weird. The only issue I ever had was the freezing in GRAW in single player mode. However, after clearing the cache it worked beautiful.

Basically, i just powered it on by opening the disk tray drawer on Friday night, and I got the three rings of death. Last time I used it everthing was fine, just out of the blue.

The only thing I can think of is we had some storms roll through the last few days and the power flicked a few times, possibly doing some damage. But it was on a Monster PowerBar, so I think that was unlikely.

Who knows, tehy say once you start freezing it is inevitable that you will get the three rings of death.

Since mine was still on the manufacturer's warrentary (spelling?...who cares...its spring break) Best Buy just exchanged mine for a new one...no questions asked and my 2 year Best Buy warrentary is still valid...so no coffin for me! I got a new one in about 5 mins. They even let me do a hard drive swap. The lady was cool. She wouldnt give me the other hard drive tho :(

Well of course they wouldn't GIVE you another hard drive lol...If mine screws up within the next 2 years best buy better let me keep MY hard drive....I got 2 many game saves on that thing:D

Well, they got it yesterday and shipped it back out today. It will be interesting to see if it is a refurb, my original one fixed or a brand new unit.

I should be back online by this weekend.

I wouldnt be afraid of them giving you a refurbished. If anything, they will fix yours, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Heck, all that was wrong with mine was the harddrive, and they gave me a brand new one!
