no they r not the same. the NEW elites have the jasper chip which greatly reduces the likelihood of the RROD as it helps it run much much cooler and quieter. also the NEW arcades have the jasper chip as well. the old pro systems do not have the new chip and are much more likely to RROD
EDIT: and if i wouldnt have bought my elite with the price drop a few weeks ago i would probably buy this but ill just stick to the prestige edition with the NVG's

i mean... it's all NEW now... unless you buy used. newer than the falcon anyway.
