I put in COD3 & realized that the guns are the same as in COD5!! Wth creators,why the same guns for 2 games. Lol.

nah 2 (im pretty sure it was 2...mighta been 3?) had the sten/stein machine gun (the one that had the side thing you held onto when shooting it) and cod5 doesnt have that (or i dont think it does O-o)

WWII was/is a historic event. Thus the creators, Infinity Ward and Treyarch have to include the weapons from that time. Yes, the game missions are works of fiction, but the fact still remains that the games are trying to be as real as possible. There wasn't that big of variation in the weapons back then, therefore there won't be that big of variation in the games. Now if the idea was set in a "top secret" part of WWII that nobody had ever heard about, that might lead to different weapons. Just my explanation of the reasoning behind the weapons. Thanks.

i was gonna' ask my wife for gears 2 and cod 5 for x-mas, but now i'm thinking about just getting one game and some new clothes. (fallout 3's gonna' last me awhile, i get the feeling. i probably don't need 2 new games =P) and anyway, i'm leaning more toward cod. what do you guys think?

if i remember correctly, IW will be making all the future even-numbered cod games (cod4, cod6, cod8, etc) and will use numbers, and Treyarch will make the odd-numbered games (cod5, cod7, cod9, etc) and will have to use names (like world at war)
i think thats right. not sure on the number/name things, but i do know treyarch and IW will be taking turns on making the games
