Braid is coming to XBLA this week, but the pricing was in some doubt. It was speculated at 1200 pts on a Japanese Xbox site, but later debunked by Microsoft in a follow up by Shacknews with MS stating that the pricing was incorrect. Well guess what, it will be 1200 pts when it comes out Wednesday at 5:00 a.m. EST. So apparently Microsoft was just saying Castle Crashers wouldn't be 1800? Guess we'll find out in a couple weeks.

Check out screens in the NEWS release or on the Braid GAME PAGE.

Manipulate time in Braid, coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday!

Named Best Xbox LIVE Arcade Game and Best Overall Puzzle Game by IGN at E3 2008, Braid, is coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade this Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 9 a.m. GMT (2:00 a.m. PDT).

From acclaimed independent developer Jonathan Blow, Braid is an artful puzzle-platformer where challenging, yet accessible puzzles are solved by manipulating time. From your house in the city, journey to a series of worlds solving puzzles that will help you rescue an abducted princess. Time behaves differently in each world, and every puzzle shows you something different about the world. The time behaviors include rewinding, independent time streams, time that is tied to space, parallel realities, time dilation, and perhaps more.

Developed by Number None, Inc., and published by Microsoft, Braid will be available for 1200 Microsoft Points worldwide and is rated E 10+ for Everyone over the age of 10 by the ESRB.

I would've gotten Braid, but I don't want to cough up 1200 points for it. Now if it was 800 I would consider getting it.

Meh, as long as it doesn't become a trend, I don't think it's that big of a deal. Braid looks worth it anyway.

My buddies says it's an easy 200 points but not worth the price tag. I'll go play it at his house :)

I think that this is an incredible game (from playing the demo) The artwork is beautiful, and the puzzles are well done and creative. Yes the achievements look pretty easy too, as long as you are able to complete the game.

That being said, the problem that I foresee with paying $15 for a game (worth it or not) is that it gives the go ahead to make ANY regular old game for XBLA release for 1200pts! This game is not big or full. It's not Penny Arcade! That game was big enough to warrant the price tag!

If we are to allow MS and the developers of arcade games do this, they had better show up with something worth the price that we will inevitably be forced to pay!

I tried the demo last night and I thought it was pretty funny killing a guy over and over again. 1200 pts is pretty steep, but depending on how good the later stages are I think it might be worth it.
