I'd guess that HD DVD players in 360s would drive the cost up, so the 360 would lose some of it's appeal as the cheaper of the high end gaming machines.

I sincerely doubt Blu-Ray is coming to the Xbox 360 as an internal drive. Check out this piece I wrote on GamingNexus that explains just exactly why it wont happen.
