You can in fact get games for $0 and I have done it before. You can't get a lot of games for $0, that's for sure. The absolutely free offers are few and far between, which is why I titled this thread as "FREE" not FREE. I think TRAINN is playing off the fact that they can say you are doing offers for things you would pay for anyway, and getting a game as a bonus. While that's a load of crap and we all know it. Gamefly is the only offer I have ever done that I would have done otherwise.
My best friend signed up under me and in a year has only received 3 games, he refuses to do any offer that requires his social security number, can't blame him for that, but all told he has spent about $25 and got 3 games. Not bad.
You have to be careful on this site, only do the offers that others have tested where all the charges are known and the trial lengths are known as well.
The way TRAINN makes money off of this is through all the offers paying them for all of us users trying their products. I worked in internet marketing for a several years. People pay you to put their links on your site and give you $x.xx for each referral you get them. That's how TRAINN gets their money, and the referring sites pay them more than the value of a game. So you get a game for less than you would normally pay (unless you do a poor offer) and TRAINN gets more money off the referring companies than they are paying for the game.
As I've said all along, anyone hesitant or refusing to use it, more power to you, protect yourself from anything you don't trust. That's a smart way to live life (no sarcasm at all). If you don't ever get close to a potential fire you'll never get burned.
For those that use this site correctly you'll do just fine. Those who complain to the BBB are those that were burned by not cancelling their trials in time. They didn't read fine print on offers they completed and spent WAY too much money on a game. I'd be pissed if it happened to me too, that's why I ALWAYS wait for CAG'ers to report on the new offers. If just one person has a bad experience with an offer, I'm not going to to it. Not worth the risk.
Summary...Melissa I respect your lack of desire to use the site but hold strong on my statement that a responsible/organized user has a LOT to gain off this site. If someone just goes in and starts choosing random offers and not reading the fine print, this is a terrible place for them.
p.s. I still think you're awesome and you have the 2nd cutest kid on XBA
