23 minutes in hell

i guess bill wiese's visit to hell happened back in 1998, but this is news to me.

basically, bill's wife annette awoke to her husband's screaming at 3:23 AM on november 23rd, 1998.

So I proceeded to pray over him, and in about ten to twenty minutes he began to calm down. He was literally in a traumatized state, like someone who went to Vietnam and has a reoccurrence, or a horrible car accident where they're reliving it. It was not just someone who had a bad dream and woke up.

bill then tells his story, describing the sights, sounds, smells and fears of hell.

i'm no saint, but i'm a strong believer in god and jesus christ. i've read genesis and revelations, and it's very interesting to me. i just want to share this with everyone here at XBA. it's worth the read.

thats pretty scary. Old testament writers and the writer of revelation beleives that the world will end or Jesus will come back down to Earth in 2012, the year i graduate. At least il have a diploma!

it really is amazing, dogs. to say the least.
and yes, celtic, from what i've heard 2012 is the end of the mayan calender. the end of everything. i don't entirely believe that, but it's something to think about. the 21st of december to be exact.

yeah i dont believe that either. out of the billions and billions of years earth has been here, what are the chances of the world ending in 2 years

hence the movie coming out in a few weeks. 2012. looks good ill go see it. as for this article. i dont believe in it nor will i ever. its not the whole god thing or any of that. i believe u go somewhere when u die but i dont think there is a heaven or hell. i more believe in life after death like u are born again.

as i said, 2012 is the end of the MAYAN calender.
from what i've heard.

again, it's just something to think about.
jesus has saved us all from eternal damnation.
we were all given a second chance. embrace that! what you're reading RIGHT NOW and everything you've read in the past was an episode of the first test. the second test will be much harder. MUCH harder.

The Mayan calendar doesn't necessarily predict the end of the world in 2012, it's just the end of the current cycle, the thirteenth b'ak'tun, and a new one starts right after.

I have also read some documents purporting that the actual date is December 21, 2036 and that 2012 was a mis-translation.

Anyway, as far as this chap's 23 minutes in Hell... I have a couple points to make.

Protestants like to make a big thing about a fiery place of torment but most of the time, especially in the New Testament, Jesus and his disciples are actually talking about Sheol which is a term from the Old Testament writers and prophets concerning the place/state where the dead rest and wait until judgment day. Some of the New Testament authors refer to it as Hades since they were writing in Greek.

This is in contrast to Gehenna, the place or lake of fire, mentioned in other parts of the Bible as a place of torment and destruction, which is stated as being or having been prepared for 'the devil and his angels'.

The name "Hell" is an appropriation of the word Helheim which is the Norse underworld--very similar to Hades except it had the stipulation that it contained those who died of weakness, cowardice, or just faded out from old age. The general consensus is that using it as 'hell' spread with the efforts to integrate paegan cultures and holidays into the burgeoning Catholic church in the Middle Ages.

You can believe whatever you want to believe, but you ought to be aware that when Protestant 'Christian' preachers start going on about 'Hell', they are actually mashing up a number of different concepts. One book is as good as the other for holding someone's words on a page but religion/spirituality is definitely something you should study for yourself, in as many versions as you can find, knowing that there are differences between languages and translations.

I remember reading most of this guy's book in a grocery store a few months back. The price tag on it? $19.99
Not bad for 23 minutes of... something.

I was baptized Methodist and grew up surrounded by a strong Christian family but I believe this guy is full of shit. I seriously doubt that if hell truly exists that this guy would've have got out after only 23 minutes. Sounds like a bunch of bullshit to try to scare teenagers away from masterbating or fornicating.
