I was on my way into the house when I heard a rumble. I looked over my shoulder to see the tractor careening towards the woods! It traveled about 60 or 70 feet before dropping off a short cliff into the woods. Ouch. Despite my unconscious attempt of permanently maiming the 17 year old tractor, it hit no trees and will be able to be pulled out. Damn. I really wanted one of those zero turning radius tractors.

17 year old tractor brakes are pretty weak

It\'s been a few weeks since I\'ve mowed the lawn. It\'s been so dry around here that the grass has barely grown. I decided the back yard finally needed to be mowed. I started up the tractor, backed out of the garage, and started to mow. I realized my headphones needed new batteries and so I stopped in front of a tennis ball to get it out of my way, and go get new batteries. I was on fairly flat ground. There was a very slight incline. After I turned off the tractor, I slipped down the parking brake and got off.

Haha, too bad. At least you have a tractor, I'm stuck with using a standard push mower...Not fun.

Ouch. I can't imagine doing my yard with a push mower. It already takes me about 2 and a half hours to do front and back, and then 30 minutes to trim with a push mower.

Oh suck.... I know so well your frustration. I have 4 acres to mow every week... and I do it without a tractor-mower... The boss, er, wife says as long as the WeedWacker mower works, we don't need to spend the dough on a real mower... so it's been in my mind silently to murder that thing, just to get a sweet 0-turn too...
Oh well. Thank goodness you didn't get hurt!
