To Infinity and.......your gaming device!
So without further ado, Disney Interactive presents, Disney Infinity. Sure it sounds a little ambitious, but they already had a Disney Universe, and if you don't go big you might as well go home right?
So what exactly is Disney Infinity? Disney Infinity is a cross platform sandbox video game that will include the most popular Disney and Pixar characters. In addition this video game will be integrated with real-world collectable interactive pieces. These pieces will allow the player to shape and expand the experiences they have while playing the video game. Almost like a physical DLC drop if you will. Currently there are plans for 40 collectable interactive pieces, 17 interactive character figures, and multiple Infinity Power discs.
The game is split between two modes; a structured storyline adventure mode that is locked to a respective Disney "World/Playset", and a Toy Box mode that allows the player/host to have creative control to build their own world. The structured adventures are designed to allow either single-player or two player co-op. While the Toy Box mode is designed to allow co-operative play for up to four players. In addition the Toy Box mode will allow drop-in/drop-out game-play for the player created worlds.
The game is being developed by Avalanche software (the same company that developed Toy Story 3: The Video game), and is scheduled for a June 2013 release across all consoles. Additionally phased roll-outs will occur throughout 2013 for other mobile and online gaming devices.
Now for the good news:
*The price of the starter pack, which will include the game, the base, and three figures will be $74.99
*Playsets will cost $34.99
*3-Pak Figures will cost $29.99
*An Infinity Figure will cost $12.99
*An Infinity Power Disc pack will cost $4.99
Alright, you caught me, the cost of this little initiative isn't really good news- but then again you didn't really need your wallet/pocketbook/purse filling up did you?
