Persona 4: Arena Tutorial Video & Screen Shots Released
Alright, so how many 2D fighter fans are in the house? I know I'm one, being raised on the original Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Mortal Kombat series. From there I grew into King of Fighters, Guilty Gear and later Blazblue. Back to fighters in a minute, but let me pose another question; who here is a fan of Atlus' incredible Persona RPG series? I have honestly never had the pleasure of playing any of the Persona games, though I've always wanted to. And I've never played an Atlus RPG I didn't like.
Alright, so if you answered yes to both of the above questions, then Persona 4 Arena (P4A) is for you! The brain child of RPG powerhouse developer Atlus and Guilty Gear/Blazblue 2D fighting Dev Arc System Works, P4A is a high definition 2D fighter promising to continue the story that the epic RPG series has created. In order to give you a day one edge over the competition, Atlus has provided the first of several tutorial videos to help you understand the basics of the game:
The video looks very promising. As I've already said, I'm a sucker for old school-style 2D fighters, and while I haven't been able to spend as much time with Blazblue as I've wanted, I did sink tons of hours into the Guilty Gear series, and with a backstory as fleshed out as that of the Persona series, P4A looks to promise much more depth than normal 2D fighters are thought to provide. P4A is set for release this summer, and if you are still curious about this game, then maybe the screenshots below will wet your appetite:
