It's probably the game you are playing being far to demanding of the phone. I've have seen many games played on the 520 and it handles most of them well for how low of quality the phone is.

Yeah it was Temple Run 2. After updating the phone it started working more smoothly though. I'm just really banking on this phone getting me through to 100K by new years
