After playing Legion Mode on Blazblue: Portable i can already safely say its going to be a bit of challenge for most people since youll have to use not only the character you picked from the start ... but others that you bring into your army as you conquer Legion mode, which when you think about it is hard because youll have to use multiple characters , possibly ones you dont know the perfect movesets to.
Blazblue: Continuum Shift is getting another console exclusive single sung by KOTOKO , the same japanese artist who sang the opening to Blazblue: Calamity Trigger "Ao-iconoclast". The new song is called "Hakira no Sora he Sasoe do" (Translates into "Invitation to the Sky Covering Everything in Blue" or something like that) and it can be previewed from the trailer at the beginning of the article. The new stages seem to be recycled old ones with different variations to them with only a few unique new stages not seen from Calamity Trigger
Update on its Console Changes
- Game is 75% complete
- Story mode will be 1.5 or 2 times bigger than Calamity Trigger
- The game will be patchable for character balance.
- Continuum Shift is incorporating Street Fighter 4's Arcade Fight Request, which allows you to play through single player while waiting for an online opponent. But now you can turn this feature on during Training Mode and Arcade Mode.
- Player rankings for 360 and PS3 were separate before, but now they will be CROSS-PLATFORM. Note you cannot play cross-platform, it's just the ranking of all the players.
- Training Mode will be voiced by Rachel as she teaches you how to play the game.
Im very happy to see that instead of just taking whats on the arcade and sending it straight into the console, theyre using the arcade version as a test to see what final character balances they need to make before finalizing the game. Also happy to see you can rank yourself not only with players of your console, but with players of the opposite platform as well
And finally an update on u-12, theres no word on what her play style will be , but she'll obivously be S tier or God Tier at the very least, and new screenshots of u-12 have been released
Blazblue: Continuum Shift is set to be released in Japan on July 1st with a pricing Limited Edition at the cost of 119.90 and a Standard Edition at 72.90
The U.S has followed Super Street Fighter 4's example and listed Continuum Shift at 39.99 with a release date of July 20th, the game is now reservable at Gamestop. No word on a US limited edition , but hopefully Aksys Games will surprise us with one
