Mortal Kombat 8 coming this fall
In an investor call transcribed by MCV, Zucker affirmed the game's release "this year" for the first time on HD consoles, though he spared the details.
In October 2007, however, Mortal Kombat Online reported that the tentatively named Mortal Kombat 8 is being developed for Xbox 360 and PS3 using Unreal Engine 3.
The last game in the series, Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, released in October of 2006 for PS2 and Xbox to above average reception. A Wii remake followed in May of 2007
