Merger Mania continuing into 2008?

The first rumors are starting for 2008 video game mergers, as Next Gen was told by a source that Midway and SCi/Eidos are once again in talks about possibly merging. The timing is interesting, as former Midway Chairman Ken Cron stepped down from the the board in December and was replaced by Shari Redstone, the daughter of predominate shareholder Sumner Redstone. According to the article, these two companied flirted back in 2003 when Midway was a much more stable company. A pairing would bring together such franchises as Hitman, Tomb Raider, Blitz, Mortal Kombat and Unreal Tournament. Check out the full article over at Next-Gen.
