Bethesda Softworks today announced a planned return to the shooting Genre with the upcoming release of Rogue Warrior. With the recent success of their Elder Scrolls series, Bethesda is ready to get back to producing FPS games.
"We are very excited to be working on Rogue Warrior, which allows us the chance to bring Bethesda's creative vision and development expertise to this brand," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "This game marks our return to shooters since our highly successful Terminator series, and we hope to offer fans a true next-generation gameplay experience."
Rogue Warrior will be a story-driven FPS where players will be Dick Marcinko, leader of am elite SEAL unit trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea. The game will also feature team-based tactical combat and be powered by the Unreal 3 engine. Some of the unique features of Rogue Warrior will be a new take on multiplayer, 10 gameplay modes and over 200 maps in both day and nighttime settings.
Rogue Warrior will be available in Fall 2007 on Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.
