Bethesda Announces ton of Falout 3 DLC

News | November 25, 2008 10:47 am
Alright, so you were a little pissed with the horse armor from Oblivion, right? We all were, but I think that Bethesda had more than made up for it with the slew of downloadable content that it added to the game. From the Vile Lair to the Knights of the Nine, Oblivion steadily received content long past what any game has yet to see on the 360. It seems that Fallout will be no exception, with mission packs announced earlier today. Check it:

Today Bethesda announced a whole load of exclusive 360 and Games For Windows DLC that comes in the form of three downloadable mission packs released in the early months of next year and the G.E.C.K which will be available for free in December.

The G.E.C.K is the Garden of Eden Creation kit and it "provides the community with tools that will allow players to expand the game any way they wish. Users can create, modify, and edit any data for use with Fallout 3, from building landscapes, towns, and locations to writing dialogue, creating characters, weapons, creatures, and more." Which I'm sure will no doubt please everyone.

The mission packs as planned contain the following missions:

Operation: Anchorage - Enter a military simulation and fight in one of the greatest battles of the Fallout universe the liberation of Anchorage, Alaska from its Chinese Communist invaders. An action-packed battle scheduled for release in January.

The Pitt - Journey to the industrial raider town called The Pitt, located in the remains of Pittsburgh. Choose your side. Scheduled for release in February.

Broken Steel - Join the ranks of the Brotherhood of Steel and rid the Capital Wasteland of the Enclave remnants once and for all. Continues the adventure past the main quest. Scheduled for release in March.

Looks like I will be saving up all those Microsoft points I will hopefully be getting next month! These should serve as some motivation for to stop messing around and finish up the campaign. I am also really interested in what the G.E.C.K. is and how it will work; that seems to be Bethesda's Christmas gift this year :D

The reason we get shafted is because of Microsoft. Not Bestheda.
For some reason microsoft really really doesn't like people to be able to create their own content in games. They did the same thing with Unreal when it released. Playstation3 got the cool world editor and we get the shaft.

This is one of the biggest problems with microsofts way of thinking.

They will never allow a company to include a way to make user created content in the games.

Those games do not allow you to modify content to the extent that Fallout will. I don't expect you to understand paper.

Microsoft is too worried a young kid would make immature dialogue/quests/missions.
