i agree, alot of sequels that come out are the exact same thing as that games prequel, how many CoD WW2 games have we seen? Crackdown 2 is the exact same thing as the first crackdown, but with 4 player coop, they didnt upgrade the graphics at all. (lets not even mention how many guitar heros are coming out). Its because game developers dont want to take the risk on a new title, because most likely it will be squished(?) by the sequels of other games.
But when companies make new titles they usually turn out amazing. For example:
1. Limbo, really enjoyed this game, played it 5 times and it never gets old
2. Alan Wake, my GoTY so far
3. Singularity, although not totally original the ability to bend time hasnt been in a video game
