Turning Point: Fall of Liberty
Now, where did Codemasters get the idea for the Germans to invade America like this? Well, a book called 'Fatherland' by Robert Harris is one of the sources. But, if you read 'Fatherland' it is set back in 1964. But, the idea that Hitler won World War Two is still the same. I urge you to check out 'Fatherland', if world war two rewritten history is your cup of tea anyways. I have the book on my shelf that I got for a dollar and fifty cents, Im sure you can find it for about 10 dollars at your local bookstore. Mine was in an estate sale.
Anyways, back to the game itself. From what Ive seen, this game looks really spiffy. You play as Dan Carson, who doesnt have sergeant or lieutenant or Private in front of his name. He is just Mr. Dan Carson, and average New Yorker. This is a rather interesting twist. The game is set in New York City as of this write-up, no news yet whether it will branch out to other cities or states. Nothing really new about the gameplay right now other than more emphasis on hand to hand combat rather then jumping and shooting and running. You are NOT a trained soldier remember, just a regular guy who doesnt want Nazis on his turf.
I for one am excited about this game, it should breath new life into the genre I absolutely adore (even though everyone is sick of World War 2 games)
