They have made post-apocalypse games and RPG games. I'm sure they could do war okay if they had the right resources and historians working for them.

Just took a look at this. I dunno, the WWII scene is definitley played out, and I'm not a real big fan to begin with. Even if they switched it up, it's still basically the same damn thing. They never would switch it up anyway; it's like television, people don't want new and revolutionary looks to the genre, they want the same famous battles they know rehashed and done over. To me, the genre is dead, and game companies need to let it die with some dignity. Even if they do come out with an amazing game for the genre, to me, it's still WWII: You're sitting there for a minute and a half or longer while you load a bullet into your rifle or another magazine into your machine gun, lol!

Well look at Operation: Wintersun that should be coming out for PC and hopefully 360 in the future. The synopsis looks extremely promising, considering it's changed from FPS to action-adventure. There is a poll on CharlieOscarDelta.com that asks about which war you want to see being a backdrop for a future game. Five percent still want ww2. I was surprised, I expected it to be 1 percent or less. Unfortunately you're right Hektic, people don't want revolutions. It scares them. They want familiar-territory. But for those game companies that take a gamble and try something new, I applaud them.
