Arlington Boys Walk In On GameStop Robbery
(CBS 11 News) ARLINGTON Two children headed inside an Arlington video game store, walked in on a robbery in progress.
The Game Stop Store in the 3400-block of Cooper sells a lot of high-end video equipment, so when robbers came in they ignored the cash register and took merchandise.
Late Friday night William Stevenson was captured. Police say Stevenson was not only involved in the Game Stop holdup, but was already wanted for a separate robbery.
Surveillance video from the store shows a masked man bursting into the store with his gun already drawn. The clerk put his hands up and he was ordered to the back room. Another robber rummages under the counter, possible searching for a bag to put the merchandise in.
As the robbery progressed the tape is still recording as a young boy walks into the store. As the gunman confronts the first boy and orders him to the ground. A second boy walks into the store, sees what's happening and also gets on the ground.
"It's certainly concerning to us when someone walks in, in broad daylight, armed with a weapon, forcing customers to the ground," said Christy Gilford, Arlington Police Department. "That's exactly why we are releasing this information."
Anyone with information about the robbery or the second suspect is asked to contact Arlington police.
