The official mixed drinks thread

Okay, I'm only 13, so i can't legally drink any of this stuff, but i thought this thread was a good idea.

Subjects welcome:
Tips on what to do and what not to do when mixing
What your favorite drinks are
(other stuff I'll think of later)

Official Xbox Magazine July issue has a neat 2 pager where a bartender in NY came up with game-related cocktails, I'll post it here in a little while.

For now, I recommend getting a few basics to make quickies. Midori is a green, melon-flavoured liqueur that is low-proof. Blue Curacao is same thing but citrus, and Sweet and Sour & bitters are cheap and make for easy cocktails. Always keep a little bottle of grenadine in case girls show up and you want to show off

My health teacher told us beer before liquor you'll get sick quicker, liquor before beer you're in the clear.

It's cheesy but hey, you don't wana pass out too early do you?

Lol, your health teacher isn't referring to passing out, but that is very true. Normally, I have a no-whiskey clause in my contract. I mean, its not that I don't like it; the first three taste great, but I don't really remember the next 7. Anyways, for shots:

Any kind of Bombs:

Jager being the most obvious choice, but any kind of flavored vodkas work wonders as well. Liquor plus Red Bull=Awesome!

Jack Frost - Peppermint Schnapps and Jack Daniels. Tastes soo good.

Caribou Lou - Pineapple Juice, 151, and malibu rum. Stuff is delicious, but you gotta watch how much you drink.

That's all I can think of real quick.

You forgot the best kind of bomb: the irish carbomb or just carbomb- the shot is equal parts Jameson Irish Whisky and Bailey's Irish Creme dropped into half a pint glass of Guinness stout. Very yummy!

A great drink that's popular with the ladies: you can't go wrond with the Long Island Iced Tea-vodka, gin, rum & triple sec topped with a squirt of cola and a lemon squeeze. You can substitute a number of things for the cola and have another great beverage.
Grape Juice-Gilligans Island
Cranberry juice- Long Beach Iced Tea
Cranbery juice & draft beer- Baltimore Zoo
etc...

Southern Comfort and Squirt is what I mostly drink.

The Incredible Hulk, which is Hennessy mixed with Hpnotiq. The two mixed together turn green.

Also, the always great, Jack and Coke.

But for a great mixture: Any kind of Vodka, Cranberry Juice, Pineapple Juice, and Orange juice. One of the best mixtures ever.

Also, I love Jager bombs.

i know she doesn't mean pass out, i just couldn't think of a better way to put it

Most bang for the buck 151 and coke
To get a firend to puke equal parts 151, Jager, and frangelico?(Why frangelico..... why not?)
My choice Beer with a shot of vodka, just really ups the achole in the beer.
??? Rocket pop-1/2 shot each Vanillia Vodka, Blue Curacoa?, and finally genadine. Should layer like that red, white, and blue popsicle. This one is kind of old but damn tastey.
Being in a college town and running a bar myself drink trens are always changing so I usually don't name a damn thing.

Liquid Cocaine - Southern Comfort, Amaretto, Pineapple Juice, Orange Juice.

Super Dew - Vodka and Mt Dew my friend and I used to drink this all the time, I'm sure there is a real name for it but that's what we call it.

Gotta say again, JAGER BOMBS FTMFW I absolutely hate Jager straight, but Jager Bombs are awesome.

From July's OXM, these drinks were put together by Adam Wyatt-Jones of the Graphic Cocktail Bar in Soho, London. I added a few details, namely describing what some of the brand-name spirits are in case you don't have a lot of dough to blow:

FLAMING HUNTER (inspired by Left 4 Dead)
Add into a cocktail shaker the following: 1.5 ounces of Maker's Mark bourbon whiskey, 1/3 ounce Cherry Heering (Danish cherry liqueur), 1/3 ounce Contra, and a dash of Angostura (bitters). Shake the contents well, then pour into a small glass and drop in one or two cherries to sit in the bottom of the glass.

BOOMER BILE (Left 4 Dead)
Slice up five pieces of cucumber and throw them into a glass half-filled with ice, then crush the lot with a pestle. Pour 1.5 ounces of gin, 1.5 ounces of vodka, a dash of lemon juice and Worcester sauce, and 3 ounces of elderflower cordial into a shaker. Now shake until mixed and pour into the glass.

POISON ARROW (inspired by Lord of the Rings: Conquest)
Fill up a shot glass with lime cordial and add a dash of Grenadine to the top. Now very slowly pour Baileys (Irish cream liqueur) into the center of the shot glass until it hits the bottom of the shot. Take a straw and slowly twirl it around so the Baileys twists around the tube. Retract the straw and serve.

BUM RUSH (inspired by Condemned 2: Bloodshot)
Run a lemon wedge around the rim of a cocktail glass, then cover with coarse salt. Crush a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker, then pour in 1.5 ounces Arita tequila, 2/3 ounce Triple Sec, and 2/3 ounce lime juice, and drop in a couple of chili seeds. Shake and pour into the glass and attach one chili pepper onto the side.

PLASMID (inspired by BioShock)
Fill a tall glass with ice and crush with a pestle, adding to the ice until it fills the glass three-quarters full. Grab your cocktail shaker and pour in the following: 1 ounce Smirnoff vodka, 2/3 ounce Blue Curacao (citrus liqueur), 1/3 ounce Myrtille (blueberry liqueur), and a dash of lemon juice. Now pour into the glass until you fill it three-quarters full. Top the rest with champagne, then add fresh blueberries and blackberries.

SPINNING PILEDRIVER (inspired by Street Fighter IV)
Carve off a lemon skin in a spiral and wrap the skin around the inside of a glass, using ice cubes to prop up the skin to the inside of the glass. Take your cocktail shaker and mix 1.3 ounces of cognac with 2/3 ounce lemon juice, and pour into the mixture. Now repeat with 1.5 ounces creme de peche and 1/2 ounce creme d'apricot, then pour the mixture slowly into the glass via the top of the spiral.
