Lol I just threw frag mines at the guard in Big Crater Supply and quickly defused them. Went from 24 to 30 in about a day. Way slower than this method, but eh, who cares right? A Waffler is still a Waffler no matter how he does it

Thanks, the trick worked like a charm.
It should be noted while collecting the 16 scrap metal you should also hunt down a stealth-boy or two, stealth-boys & scrap metal can both be found at the Robco Facility.
Also you cannot turn in the scrap metal for exp until you have fixed 3 the leaks in Megaton.

Ok, pretty much questions for you Noah. Do you think this will work with my current character? I don't want to have to start a new one. Got to many hours logged on this one. I don't need help with my stats, I just want to get to level 30. Also, if you think this will work, can I sub in my Chinese Stealth Suit for the Stealth Boys, or does it have to be a stealth boy.
Edit: 12:26 pm - It does work with a character already started and the chinese stealth suit. Though you won't be able to get perfect stats. But I like the way that my characters stats are built.

sorry for not getting to you earlier lol. i was at work. just saw this.
but yes, getting to level 30 works with any character with BS. when i first did the scrap metal glitch i was already at level 29. glad to know this guide actually helped someone! lol. and while i worked on this i discovered that you do miss out on some great perks having all SPECIALS at 5 until the end, but i think the build will make up for it.
so after MZ are you going to have fallout completed?

sorry for not getting to you earlier lol. i was at work. just saw this.
but yes, getting to level 30 works with any character with BS. when i first did the scrap metal glitch i was already at level 29. glad to know this guide actually helped someone! lol. and while i worked on this i discovered that you do miss out on some great perks having all SPECIALS at 5 until the end, but i think the build will make up for it.
so after MZ are you going to have fallout completed?
Its cool man. But yeah, all I need to do is finish Mothership Zeta and I will have finished Fallout 3 once again.

I didn't mean to bring this thread back up but I just beat Point Lookout and cannot get back to the Capitol Wasteland. I talk to Nadine and say "I have to leave" and she replies "Lets get going" like she is going to start up the boat and take me back to the Wasteland but she doesn't budge! I cannot find my way back to the beloved Wasteland, anyone have any help? Am I missing something?

Ok, my buddy just started a new game and we are attempting to do the glitch. Problem is, we need energy weapons and such to give to him to get on his good side. Where can we get sufficent items to get on his good side? Does giving him the scrap metal help towards this?
Edit: Never mind. Went up to the alien crash site and grabbed the alien plasma pistol and the alien power cells. The power cells were enough to get him to trust you. Then to get caught, instead of stealing his rifle we stole back the power cells.

Same here. I've done the glitch several times, and I never had to get on his "good side". I just simply gave him the scrap metal and did the glitch.
