Thats why I was thinking maybe 10 rounds (ie first to 10 kills) at 2 minutes a piece and then do that 3 times (once for each map).

Lancers essentially are overpowered in the fact that they have a one kit melee kill and they can slow a person down in the middle of a roadie run. So personally I think it should be up to the individual to choose either hammerburst or lancer.
yea but hammerburst can down someone in less then half a clip if you shoot fast enough (and most people who use a hammerburst have a great trigger finger) so itd be unfair to someone to get slaughtered down by it cause they personally dont like it and/or have no way to backfire it.
Fair enough - what about one round of Lancer, one round of hammerburst and the last round you get to choose?

You don't get a choice on anything except lancer and hammerburst
You always start with one of those two but you also have a pistol and a shotgun and a smoke grenade (which is pretty much useless anymore).

hmmm..i kinda like the one round lancer, one hammerburst...but for 3rd match....why not use neither? like you can choose whatever, but you cant use it? youd have to use pistol/shotty? that might could work...idk...just spittin ideas

Well see I figured you could use any of the weapons you start with - but you had to choose lancer round 1 and hammerburst for round 2 then the third round you could choose whichever.
Obviously this is TDs tourney and not mine but I just figure the lancer/hammerburst and snub pistol and shotgun are all standard equipment. The shotty is useless from a distance and they really toned down the fire rate on the pistol for 2 so its not as lethal for those who can mash the trigger uber fast as it was in gears 1.
In gears each weapon has its uses. I have personally had a hammerburst out in close range dual with guys with shotguns and WON. It was either skill/host advantage/luck or some combination thereof.
I would compare to MLG but they only have multiplayer tourney matches.
My personal preference would be all starting weapons are legit to use for all three rounds. Just because someone is good with a hammerburst does not mean they would be guaranteed a win. IDK though that's just my opinion.

Well IMO, most of the other weapons are "power" weapons. Hammer of dawn or sniper or torque or boomshot would be very unfair if one person had them and the other did not.
Hell we can call this the Taco/Mini tournament and just the two of us can go at it!!
I'm curious what other people think - like I said in my numerous posts - I think starting weapons and nothing else. Any decent gears player should be able to win with just those.

Starting weapons would be the only way to play this, aren't the other weapons just generated on the map somewhere? That would be really unfair.

well dude im pretty much good at everything in gow2, its just that i want to know the specs of this little tournament you guys are hosting up here so i can be involved.
