If you continue to have issues with the pc as well, after this point, I really do recommend going to geekstogo.com as right now, they have been diagnosing my issues and have been having me run some programs and such with certain code, and things are starting to look positive for me.

My fiances laptop, seems to be getting under control, and I feel I will have it fixed by the end of the evening!

Looks like I spoke too soon. The restore worked only to an extent. The virus that prevented me from opening programs is now gone, but there's still dozens of others that remain. When I go on the internet to try and download a new anti-virus program, one of the viruses automatically re-directs me to some other page (ad pages). I can now open the full system restore program/operation, BUT the worst case scenario happened: my recovery drive is gone. There's no way of restoring the whole system anymore at this point unless I can get my hands on a set of recovery discs. Looks like the viruses were that smart that they made it so it's impossible for me to restore the laptop to factory settings.

I'm pretty much out of ideas at this point. Junior, you mentioned geekstogo.com. How does that site work exactly? Also, if anyone has experience with Geeksquad at Best Buy, would they be able to take care of this problem and if so, what kind of fee am I looking at? Of course, this will be my last resort if my friend can't help me out tomorrow... :/

Weeeee, everything's been solved finally xD Was able to run Malwarebyte's Antimalware and remove all of the malwares/viruses/trojans. Then immediately downloaded Avast and ran a full system scan, found 2 remaining infecteds and took care of them. That should be everything now.

Computer is back up and running strong again. I also learned from the friend that helped me out that the stupid shit of a "anti-virus" program I was using (Windows Security Essentials) was a sham and was a virus in itself apparently, which if I were to have entered my info to get the "full version", my personal data would've been stolen. Good thing I didn't...

As for the 360, it connects fine but half the time I have to restart the modem for it to connect. This has been an issue in the past, but it's become more common the past few days. Does this mean I may need a new/better modem?

i forgot about malwares, i used that on my computer when i got a virus a few months back and it wiped the virus out in like 5 minutes and my computer was fine after that and i think i kno that windows security sham ur talkin bout, thats popped up before on my computer and i immediately xed off the page before it fucked somethin up. as far as ur xbox havin a hard time connectin i would call ur cable company n see if they have been havin any issues in ur local area or anythin and if not then i would suggest havin them come out to look at ur shit or having them hook u up with a new modem, could also be a problem with ur router if ur using one?

Yeah, it's a full router/modem set up. The thing that bothers me though, is that every computer in the house connects fine, even the wi-fi devices all connect. Yet the 360 won't connect despite it being directly wired to the router. It makes no sense that it won't connect...

I'll have to take a look at that later, but would that make it so that the 360 only connects half the time?...because that's what it's doing, half the time it will connect and half the time it won't.

yea my nat settings were being weird back when i had a router that didnt come with an installation disc and my connection was on and off, i then got an actualy linksys router and installed it and let it hook to my pc and all that n ive never had a problem since, u can always check xbox.com's connections page too cuz they have alot of different info on all that, but it could b somethin completely different, if all ur computers r working fine through the router and modem and its just ur xbox u might have to mess with ur firewalls and stuff

Well, Avast! was lame. It was fine for one night, then the next day it decides to detect a potential harm, place the file into it's "chest", then detect the same thing again constantly nonstop. The chest had like 400 copies of the same file because it kept getting sent there and re-detected -_- So I got really pissed and started clicking "Restore C Drive" over and over and somehow, it actually worked, so my whole C Drive has been restored back to factory. For now, I'm gonna use the 60 day free trial of Norton that comes with the computer until I have the time/funds to go out and buy a real anti-virus program (no more free ones, I'm seriously done taking risks).

Oh, and Silent Circus, thanks a bunch for all the insight on the 360 issue. It's been connecting well today, so I'll hold off on that check up. The next time it gives me issues however, I'll definitely try that method out! :)

I use Bitdefender Internet Security. $50 a year, but it covers three PCs and it's pretty easy to configure and mess with. Only time a virus has slipped through was when my hubby downloaded something it was attached to so it was his fault for okaying it when the warning box popped up. I like it a lot better than Norton, for what it's worth.
