Either that or I'll pony up the three bucks and just get Civilization.
Windows Phone 7 Release and DOTW April 4th
GLOBAL DOMINATION TO GO!
Build. Discover. Conquer. Rule the World!
Sid Meier’s Civilization Revolution is an award-winning title with “just one more turn” put into the palms of your hands. Lead your civilization from the dawn of man to the modern age and beyond. Go head to head with history’s greatest leaders as you wage war, conduct diplomacy, discover new technologies, inspire your nation and build the most powerful empire the world has ever known.
For nearly two decades, the Sid Meier’s Civilization® franchise has been the benchmark for strategy gaming and is available and updated for Windows Phone 7. You can choose from 16 Civilizations (including America, Spain, China, Japan and Germany) to lead one of four different victory conditions: Technology, Domination, Economic or Cultural. Engage in strategic combat across a randomly generated map for many hours of replayability or use the Scenario Creator to create your own challenge. With multiple difficulty levels, an integrated tutorial and friendly advisors to help newcomers and seasoned Civ veterans alike this is a game for anyone.
That's not all! If having all the power of a conqueror at your finger tips isn't enough, the arcade-style flight action game MiniSquadron is this weeks DOTW, marked down to $1.99 from the regular $2.99! Now, don't go running off to grab it up just yet, as I feel it important to note that this game has an unobtainable achievement worth a whopping 50 points! So completionists may not want to opt into MiniSquadron. I'm unaware the turn-around time/dev support of WP releases after the fact, so I cannot say whether this will be patched or not. Check out the description below:
MiniSquadron is a frantic shooter involving lots of little planes all vying for supremacy of the skies! Perform loop-the-loops, Immelmann turns and other daring feats of aeronautical acrobatics with a super fluid control system. Experience the joy of freedom in the air!
- 9 levels of aeronautical mayhem
- Over 60 unique flying machines to discover
- Oodles of enemies and weapons
- Achievements, leaderboards and a giant squid
- Hours and hours of fantastic flying fun
I'll certainly be picking up Civilization down the line, but I'm on the fence with MiniSquadron and that glitched achievement. I may pick it up on the cheap with hope that it will one day be patched, but we will see. That's it for Windows Phone this week!
