Every BCS school schedules easy non-conference games. At least the Buckeyes didn't schedule any Division 1-A (FBS) schools like Tennessee Tech this year and we've routinely scheduled ranked teams like Texas, USC and Miami.

No argument the SEC is good, not to mention excellent against the Big Ten. But it doesn't mean OSU sucks. Unless Arkansas does something really soon we're beating the crap out of the #2 SEC team this year.
it was a great game...lot of dropped passes for Arkansas...i'm from Louisiana but because of work i've transferred..so not bitter...just love all the Big 10 love here...lol Also love being a Saints fan up in Colts territory!

hey i'm happy you finally beat a good opponent...SEC is still the best conference in college football and you know it...was a great game tonight... but Arkansas beat themselves...and if Auburn wins it will be 5 championships for the SEC in a row...pretty impressive...

Do I need to remind you we beat Oregon last year in the Rose Bowl? You know the Oregon that is in the national championship this year? Not to mention our BCS wins over Notre Dame and Kansas State. Although it has been a while Miami in the 2002 championship was a VERY good team. We also beat Texas in the regular season a few years ago. Did we choke against the SEC teams in the big games (until this year)? Yes. But so what? Lots of conferences/teams lose to the SEC lately.
Look, if you want to argue that certain years OSU is overrated, I will not deny it. If you want to say OSU plays weak opponents then you need to realize we schedule our games YEARS in advance for most of the non-conference big games. We played Texas two years and USC two years. To argue the SEC plays better opponents is probably true but only because the SEC has been a strong conference for the past few years, arguably the best. They STILL play super weak non-conference games so ragging on OSU because the Big-10 sucks (with the exception of Wisconsin) isn't really their fault.
As for the Sugar Bowl did Arkansas make a bunch of mistakes? Yes. But between (IMO) the bad safety call plus the super-conservative second half play by the Bucks, not even to mention the BLOCKED PUNT at the end of the game, OSU tried to give back the game to Arkansas. Thankfully our defense, you know the one that had our 3rd string safety and cornerback playing, won the game for us. That is what OSU football is normally about, bend but not break defense who wears you down and wins. Ultimately you can say Arkansas had a bad day, but so did OSU and we still won.
The problem is you are trying to argue two points. One the SEC is a great conference. If you asked me a few years ago I might have said they were a bit overrated. Now I have no problem admitting they are the conference to beat in college football right now.
The second point is that OSU sucks, is overrated or something along those lines.... Calling OSU's opponents weak is really just a cop out because you don't like OSU. With few exceptions MOST teams have a few weak opponents. If you are going to insult Ohio State, at least do it for what they deserve. This year they have shown they are NOT an overrated team, and they have proven they can beat a QUALITY SEC team.

Absolutely EVERYTHING you said in this post is exactly how i feel...except the part where you thought the safety was a bad call...at first i felt that way until i saw that he disengaged himself from the first tackler and another guy tackled him...i have a lot of close friends who are OSU fans and they have just put a bad taste in my mouth about OSU and their relatively "soft" schedule (by this i mean you dont have to play SEC teams..) i know that SEC teams play some weaker opponents, but then they have to play other SEC teams for the most part..the SEC beats themselves up every year and then limp into the bowl games and still for the most part dominate them (this year we're not off to a great start 3-4 so far, but neither is the big 10 at 1-6)...definitley would love a playoff...but that's not happening anytime soon...
Last night, OSU definitlely deserved to win the game....they played harder, faster and stronger than ARK...although you have to admit there were a lot of wide open dropped passes that definitely would have changed a lot about the game...but no excuses...as much as i hate pryor and thought he didnt deserve to play along with the other four guys, he played a great game...i thought the game was over (as you did also...probably!) whenever ARK blocked the punt..i just knew Mallet was going to seal the deal...but he choked this time (instead of OSU) in a big game...rare pick from this guy and it came at the most horrible time...but give credit to OSU's defense...actually they looked like they had the SEC defense last night...AND with a few of their starters out..i understand that..and it helps that that Heyward kid is a beast

So as you can see there, since the SEC is now becoming the conference to beat, we are now scheduling them. I know we scheduled Oklahoma at least 2 years ago (more like 3 if memory serves). So remember look at some of these teams from several years back and they weren't bad teams. Next year we do have a powderpuff schedule though, but Miami was scheduled not long after the national championship too, so they were good then
As for the safety, I agree the tackler was disengaged, but he was being gang tackled and made no further forward progress. I mean really just because he got pushed back 3 yards into the end zone means its a safety? Normally refs side with the runner. 9/10 times that would not have been called a safety. Just saying

So as you can see there, since the SEC is now becoming the conference to beat, we are now scheduling them. I know we scheduled Oklahoma at least 2 years ago (more like 3 if memory serves). So remember look at some of these teams from several years back and they weren't bad teams. Next year we do have a powderpuff schedule though, but Miami was scheduled not long after the national championship too, so they were good then
As for the safety, I agree the tackler was disengaged, but he was being gang tackled and made no further forward progress. I mean really just because he got pushed back 3 yards into the end zone means its a safety? Normally refs side with the runner. 9/10 times that would not have been called a safety. Just saying
yeah but if he becomes disengaged and tries to go forward, as he did, it'll be a safety everytime...usually refs side with the runner, but not if he disengages...he has to go down..but anyways..doesn't matter anymore...man i would love to have your schedule next year...lol i'm an LSU fan by the way...not sure if i mentioned that..i've just been talking about the SEC, but LSU is my team..although they need desperate help at the QB position...
so yeah, looks like OSU will be in the championship game again next year with that schedule..and i have my fingers crossed that it will be against LSU..lol but we definitely have to address the QB situation...

Actually i could care less who goes..would love to see Tomlinson get a Super Bowl Ring--just not with the team that knocked us out of the playoffs in 04 and 09..and since the Chargers screwed themselves and didn't make the playoffs I just wanna see a good game--preferably with a couple of teams that haven't been OR won one in awhile.
