What should I do with my Xbox?

So for the past say, three of four months my Xbox has been having major difficulty reading games. It's not even a year old, because it's a new one that came back when I sent in my red ringed Xbox not to long ago. Right now, the only game that works is Reach. Everything else I try either won't read at all, or the unreadable message shows up at the main menu. I've constantly tried cleaning off the disc with a wet cloth, but nothing works. Even my brand new Black Ops won't read, which breaks my heart. My warranty ran out, so I don't feel like paying $100 to send it in. But this is where my decision becomes hard. I could get a new Xbox for Christmas, but the stores only carry the Slims nowadays. So since my pro already has enough room on the HDD, I don't want to get a whole new box that only has 4 GB and a completely different HDD. So should I look at amazon, or Gamestop, and buy a used arcade? Or should I send in my Xbox and wait a week or two, when it'll be Christmas time by then and I could be playing with another Xbox that I bought?

I would get a 2010 Holiday Bundle. Even though it has 4GB HDD, you can use USBs and it comes with Alan Wake and Forza 3.

Sell it off and get a new model, maybe the Kinect bundle?

Mine had the same problem and I upgraded to the slim (runs wonderfully). Used the old one in my bedroom to watch netflix and listen to some last.fm.

Mine did that and I ended up getting the arcade and just used my pro HD in it.

^That's what I did. It happened to me a month before the slims came out though.

My dad bought me an arcade. I would have bought the Slim otherwise.

You can use your old harddrive on the new model but you have to break the shell.
edit: Here's a video on how to do it.

On some games, mine will play fine then at random will read "Disk unreadable". I installed the games I play most often onto my xbox and it doesn't have that problem. You just need a lot of memory.
