A) Runs out of room on his giant stone calender, or
B) Dies.
No more mystery to it stopping at that date.....

Yeah its just a date, remember when the world was going to come crashing to an end in 2000? I'm also pretty sure that people have been erroneously predicting the end of the world throughout most of the twentieth century and before it as well. I remember reading about it supposedly ending in the 1970s. I'm pretty sure that didn't happen
