unexplainable loss of intrest

I used to play halo 1 and halo 2 endlessly. i was insanely addicted. My school breaks consisted of as much halo as possible, while squeezing in life stuff. This past summer was also very halo-oriented. And up until the release of halo 3, i was still ready to keep playing every day and take on halo 3. Now I find myself unable to play for more than an hour. I used to think it was the community that kept me coming back, and although that was a part of it, I don't think that was right. This is because the community hasn't changed much besides the endless amount of new comers. I no longer feel that competitiveness while playing, that urge to do good every game and play for hours. My life has also changed for the better because of this loss of interest in halo, and I'm not complaining , but I'm trying to figure out why, after years of intense playing, have I and so many others as well, suddenly no longer feel the urge to play. Have you guys recently felt like this? If so, why?

Yea man i feel what your saying. I was psyched to play halo 3 I was trying to get out of school and everything. The first few days felt like i was playing the best game in my life, but eventually I got bored. I've been getting on sometimes to play the new maps but yea Halo 3 is that addictive as halo 2 or 1

I think the hype of Halo 3 was too great for what the game actually turned out to be. I don't know, I was kind of excited even though I never played Halo, I'm like wow this must be a great game if everyone is so insanely interested in. When I got it I played for like a few weeks straight, then after two and a half weeks it got very boring and their are way too many assholes. I couldn't play for more than 30 minutes without being bored. That could have just been the lack of Halo I've experienced. Actually the only two games I've played so far that I could have played nights and days 24/7 is Shadowrun and Gears of War.

I had a loss of interest in video games about a year ago. One day I totally just felt like they were a waste of my time, and just didn't want to play them anymore. I tried playing something, and just got bored.
It lasted for like a week, but then I got back into them. I don't know why I lost interest then. Haha.

I play it for a few hours a week, then like, day/night when I have my buddy come over and play LIVE with me, we get infection games set up, but most of the time we play team doubles/big team battles. Maybe some team slayer, too.

It's because you are growing up and there is nothing wrong with that. You just have to fit games in to your new life style. Just kick back and see where it fits in. Take it easy bro.

I agree with you Meg, Halo 3 definitley didn't live up to all of the hype that it created. I was psyched for it, too, got it at midnight, played through legendary, but something was missing. I loved Halo: CE, which is one reason why I never really got into Halo 2 all that much, and why I thought I got bored with Halo 3. Gears was the most addicting game I've played since the 360s release, I can remember many sleepless nights with that game, same with COD4, but not with Halo. After I beat Assassin's Creed tonight I'll be throwing in ShadowRun, so we'll see about that.
