The fundraiser is a fantastic idea. I am more than willing to pony up some cash for a website that has continued to provide such a great experience for me. I would encourage each of it's members to chip in a few dollars and help keep xbox america going.

This was limited to today only.

Xbox America is not the only website hosted on the server. I was hosting a chat room for Brown Early Decision applicants, and decisions were released today at 5pm. Throughout the afternoon there were over a hundred users in the chat room, each sending requests to the server every few seconds. I temporarily upgraded the server in preparation, but during the absolute peak, from 4pm-6pm, it was too much for the server to handle. After today, the traffic to that site will drop dramatically. By the end of the week, it'll be literally zero.

Sorry about this, but it was just temporary.

Quite honestly, that's an impossibility. There definitely have been times within the past few months where we've had a burst of traffic that could've exhausted available database connections, but by far the majority of days never even near that level.

The server is receiving around two-thirds of the traffic it received earlier in the year, and is running with more resources.

Impossible nothing! I know a lot of people have seen this message daily for a while now. It mostly happens during 2-3am central time, but I do see it every day.

So we went from "last few months" to "more than one week even?"

It is definitely possible that this chat room caused the error within the very recent past, particularly in the evenings. This has only occurred for two weeks, tops. And as I said, in any case, that site's traffic will be dropping to zero within the week.

If I could take screenshots of it happening everyday (if there's a date incorporated), I will. It's definitely been longer than 2 weeks. Like I said, at 2-3am central time I've been seeing this message for months. I've given up coming on here that late. If you choose to disregard me telling you this that's fine, but with other people saying it's been happening for quite a while now, you think you would at least consider that it might be happening. I just want it to end.
