The Empire Shall Fall, new band from Jesse Leach?

I just picked up The Empire Shall Fall, apparently a new band from ex-killswitch engage frontman Jesse Leach. from what i read, Leach left his other band Seemless in late 2009, and soon formed The Empire Shall Fall. their first album Awaken is definately shows Leach is returning to his roots of mixing extremely hard screams with his classic melody. since being away from killswitch for so long(for those of you who are killswitch-challenged, Leach was only in killswitch engage until the 2nd album Alive or Just Breathing), Leach is a tad rusty. i noticed strains in his screams, but since Seemless was a blues/rock band, Leach is still amazing with his melody. highly recommend anyone who was a fan of the original killswitch engage to pick Awaken up(available at Shockhound.com, or cmdistro.com for order if your FYE, or Best Buy, or Hastings doesnt have it). most noticable tracks were Awaken, Lords of War, Voices forming Weapons, and Choir of Angels. all in all, this album gets a 4/5. i really like where Leach is going with this band. check them out for a listen at their official myspace page, http://www.myspace.com/theempireshallfall

their last album Endgame didnt impress me. i mean, Dave Mustaine is still a rock legend, i have the utmost respect for the guy. but classic bands need to realize their era is over. like Guns N Roses, and Lynyrd Skynyrd

lol! yeah they do. man im a music genious. kanye west aint got nothing on me!!!!!!!! and he's not the worlds greatest producer either. Rick Rubin holds that title. aaaaaaand for anyone who doesnt know who Rick Rubin is, he's the Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman.he holds over 100 bands under his belt. kanye comes no where close. okay off that subject and back to this.

I'll definitely track them down and give them a listen.
Chaind, did you catch this thread? http://xboxamerica.com/threads/free-metal-music-from-amazon/page/1/#post-222555
It has a link to a bunch of free music from Amazon, part of a metal sampler.
And hey, even if we disagree here and there, I can tell from your list of favourites and your passion for the music that we do have a lot in common and, really, I'm just glad to have another person here on XBA that really enjoys heavy music and likes to actually discuss it and share new finds and all.
There's a lot of people that like metal here at XBA but not many that like to actually talk shop and gab like bitches Don't forget there's also the metal thread for general discussion, and BigZu's music review thread has some good metal entries, although you've probably already heard most of them.

yea man. i've looked into them, and, i've either heard of them, or jumped on and listened to them that day. i'll probably start posting more often in those areas, but i still like any noteable releases to have a thread of their own like meshuggah, or this for instance. also, soulfly is set to release Omen this year. and yea, i caught the amazon thread but i go to hot topic and get the metal for the masses CD's. (which as soon as i finish listening to it, im putting a review out so u can see the track listing). those CD's have the best stuff from Century Media and Nuclear Blast.

I never liked Metal for the Masses until the 5th one I think it was, it was all yellow/orange with goat-horned skulls, and it had Behemoth, Celtic Frost, Belphegor, SYL, so much good stuff it blew my mind.
I'm trying to look up track listings for vols 6 and 7 right now and they're a bitch to find. I think noone that likes metal will admit to going in to Hot Topic

Ugh i hated Jesses vocals on KSE, loved them 10 fold more when Howard took over. I was gonna go see KSE for like the 9th time live last month until Howard dropped off the tour then i got rid of my tickets and we didnt bother going(They had Phil from All That Remains filling in and he's fn horrible live). Anyone kno why Howard dropped off that tour anyways? All i heard were rumors about him hurting his back or something
