Strategy Guides - Good or Bad Idea?

XBA Community! I have a question. I have never bought a single strategy guide and in this achievement whoring age we live in I want to know what you guys think about them. The one that I want was all sealed up so I couldn't check it out (Dragon Age 2), I am just curious if they have achievement walkthroughs as well.

Most of the guides I've seen do have achievement guides or at least a list in them, all depends on the game, DA2 I'm assuming would also have one in the guide just because it's such a huge release. I have a guide for Lost Odyssey and Fallout New Vegas and I believe they both have some sort of achievement guide in them.

I also would be sharing mine with some friends that haven't played the game yet. I was just hoping to see if anyone had the Dragon Age 2 one, because the Supplier achievement is a huge pain my a$$.

Haven't seen the DA2 guide, but the Lost Odyssey and New Vegas guides were very thorough and large, don't think they miss much in them.

I have bought several game guides but the best was Fallout 3. Yes, I could look online for stuff but it was nice to have something in hand to read and mark places in. Plus, it gave a step by step way to perform each mission. Therefore, it was an achievement guide as well.

I might just say screw it and go for it. It would add to my resale if I include the guide as well right?

I like books, so for me they were something to collect. These days, though, I am more apt to go to the net to find the answer to the many questions I have about a game.

You know, I have always liked Strategy guides, thats why i have taken extra special care of mine, after opening and closing them numerous times the binding gets weak so what i did with all mine was put each page in a sleeve and put them in a three ring binder (much like baseball cards) and it makes it much easier to turn the page(no pun intended Mr.Seger) and it preserves them as well. It makes for a nice/neat organized collection

That is one of the reasons I am on the fence about it. I have all but two of the achievements, but I have throughly enjoyed both games. I guess a part of me just wants to buy it because I am a fan. But then the Cheevo whore in me says that if you buy it, it better have the right stuff I need to 100% it as well.

I think the reason the Uncle Bob quote came up was because i am currently watching him, my buddy went and saw him 2 nights ago in Saginaw and recorded the whole show, and sent it to me, so i am watching the concert now, but it did seem fitting to type that...lol!
