I pre-ordered it and so far I've only gotten to play it for 6 hours. From what I've played of it I can say it's a great game. Just sucks that EA screwed the servers up. I mean come on, they had 4 servers up for launch night.
1 Eastern
1 Western
1 Ocean
1 Europe
Which of course crashed because of the high volume of people. They didn't anticipate that many people trying to play the game. Come on EA! Seriously? Couldn't figure out how many people were going to be on. Can't figure that out by how many pre-orders you had?
Maxis has since "apologized" for all the problems and on March 18th, everyone who has bought it gets a free game from EA's catalog.
My favorite thing about the whole fiasco was that if you were to get a refund through Origin, they ban your account and charge you a $35 charge-back. Amazon stopped selling the game due to all the problems.
IF you can get the game to work, hell yeah I'd say buy it, but if you can wait a little while then I would. It's still a great game, but right now it's not working.

That's a new level of low from EA, someone should step in and fine or sue the shit out of EA for that, teach game developers and publishers a much needed fucking lesson.

I was really looking forward to purchasing this game. good thing I waited. sim city had been a favorite growing up. and now I kind of wish they should have just left it alone.

I just seen on ScrewAttack that EA is giving a PC code to current Simcity owners for their poor launch and product. I dont believe it will apply to those buying Simcity after the announcement was made. Blizzard is cracking a smile here.
