In an effort to get one of my better ideas more widely known and lobbied for, I have created this thread. Over the past few months we've had a flood of newcomers to the site. They come from all over the continent in search of an internet community to call home, and to make new friends. But alas we've come to the age old conclusion.... Noobs can sometimes be annoying. One of the main problems we've seen lately is a tremendous increase of duplicated threads. Some ask questions that have already been answered, some even have the same EXACT topic, that has already been thoroughly discussed in another thread. The problem.... The newcomers aren't using our wonderful search feature. Now before anyone starts calling the noobs lazy, you have to admit, the control panel can be quite intimidating to someone who has only been on the site for 5 mins! You have all these new buttons, and words, and links and you just dont know what to press first! So, in an effort to make the site more friendly, and even more accessible. I propose that we relocate the search bar to the main page conveniently located right underneath the control panel. There, everyone will be able to search for a topic, question, or even another member within seconds of thinking to do so!
