Random Questions
08/01/11 2:41 am | #1
A revised version of the random thoughts thread where people can post thier questions about anything. We have a bunch of threads here that were started just because someone had a question so I thought it would be better organized to have them all in one place.
Anyway here's my question.
In watching the AC: Brotherhood credits I noticed theres a Japanese version with Japanese voice actors. Do the Japanese actors use Italian accents like the Americans do?
Another question: To buy WP7 games do can you use MS points or do they charge your phone bill?

Damn, never really thought if Japanesse actors used accents. I would imagine so.
I think you pay for the content you download through the credit card you have to keep on file, but not entirely sure on how that all works out.

Great idea for a thread....A couple minutes on the googler got me this:
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/winphone/forum/wp7-wpfeatures/can-you-buy-windows-phone-7-apps-with-microsoft/dd59c5a5-291f-4501-bc21-1e610c982e5e
It says that you cannot use MS points on your windows phone YET.
Good question on the actors though, I'd assume so since afterall the English actors used accents even though I'd assume they'd be speaking Italian in the actual story line.

Natedogg already asked this question in the random thoughts thread...i think that is where it is at.
But to answer your question...WP7 uses your credit card that you have to put on file in order to purchase games and apps from the marketplace.
They don't charge your card until 3 days after your purchase or until you reach $15.

No, they do not.
It took me a while to figure out how to explain why not without going on forever so here goes.
Japanese is not a latin based language like Italian and English. Italian and other latin based languages do not directly translate to Japanese. The sounds are distinctly different in the languages.
What this means is that the "italian" accent in Japanese would just come off like an Italian person trying to speak Japanese without knowing how to speak fluently. It would just end up broken and very difficult to understand.

Good explanation, makes alot of sense when you put it that way. I really want to play the Japanese version now, for some reason I think it would be like an old Bruce Lee movie...

Just started playing Mass Effect & was wondering if all these questions actually affect the story at all or is it all just pre-set dialouge?
Also thanks to everyone who answered my WP7 question. Gonna wait to get one until you can use MS points on it.

It affects the story line in a very subtle way. The really cool thing about it, is whichever route, good or evil, that you take, it carries over to the second game.

yeah like he said, nothing it pre-set, the game continues along the path depending on what choices you make. So, take your time and pick what you want, it makes it more personal, and enjoyable.
As for the WP7 thing, I don't think they will do it to where you use strictly MS points, I think this route will always be using your credit card.

So far my guy is a total dick.... I was also wondering if you do multiple playthroughs to get the completion which one carries over to ME2? or do you get to choose?

Once you pop in the Mass Effect 2 disk and go to start your new game, it will ask if you want to load a previous playthrough, then it will pull up your saves and you get to pick which save you want to have carried through.

I guess my last question was irrelavant since there is no way in hell I'm playing this damn game more than once...I really don't like it..at all.

Yeah, just skip the first game and go onto the second one. The first game is terrible (Imo, of course), the second game is extremely epic and much more exciting.

I felt the same way. Played the first one for a bit, but never finished it. I did beat ME2 however, and it was pretty good. I suggest toughing it out and you might end up liking it more.
