Quick question about NAT settings
01/22/12 4:57 am | #1
Would anyone know why 2 of the same consoles running on the same wireless would have different NAT settings? I'm trying to figure out why one console's settings are Open and the other is Moderate. Would anyone know how to make the both Open?

Because whichever console was turned on first is probably sucking bandwidth causing the second console to be moderate.
If that's not the case, I have no idea.

Could just be your router in general, I recently upgraded to a new wireless router with the highest bandwith model they have and it instantly put all my previous moderate connections to open connections. I can have my 360, PS3, laptop, and 2 desktop computers all running off the wireless with full bar open connections, win was worth the 95 bucks or whatever I paid for the router.

The router is giving one priority. Go in to the advanced settings and get the specific IP addresses for each console, then make sure the router has open NAT settings for both of those IPs and port forwarding:
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)
Port 88 (UDP)
Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
Port 80 (TCP)

Everything set to both works better. And I believe port 1874 should be forwarded as well.
Here's a great explanation if you don't know how to do it.
