Im doin my first playthrough on apocalyptic right now, when i beat the main game can i go back through and mop up achieves such as rankin all the weapons up and gaining souls to buy stuff or do i have to start over? Also, when u start over do ur stats carry over and can u lower the difficulty to make mopping up easier? Thanks.

No, there's no real going back. There is this one final save point, and after that it's just end game and bye. The NPC will even tell you so.
Now, if you're on a difficulty LOWER than Apocalyptic, then you can beat the game and start over with your Abyssal Armor if you completed the set. That's all you get to keep.
If you want to lower the difficulty to mop up, then wait until AFTER you have completed the game on Apocalyptic and gotten the Achievements, then load up that last save and then lower the difficulty. Touching the difficulty before you finish the first time will screw up the whole save.
Also, just for the sake of fun-ness, I wouldn't recommend doing your first playthrough on Apocalyptic. You're going to have to do a LOT of grinding to max out your weapons and get those Achievements, regardless of difficulty, and not having the Abyssal Armor until the very end means you're going to get smacked around a lot.
While playing, go in to your menu and go to options and then the Enter Code part and put in, exactly as shown:
The Hollow Lord
This will upgrade your scythe to the Harvester which gets you a few more souls per kill.

Ah crap, im already a good chunk into the game on apocalyptic and dont really want to start over already lol. So ill prolly do what u said and beat it then lower the difficulty, the game hasnt really been too hard so far and the respawn points when u die are pretty generous. How do i change the difficulty after i beat the game? I didnt see a place to do that anywhere in the options screen when i glanced for it.

Er, actually, I think you can't change it once you start. My bad there.
But really it shouldn't be an issue. You don't have to find every chest, and grinding the weapon skills can be done on weaker monsters in earlier areas until the weapon levels up some. Mop up won't be bad even on Apocalyptic, it will just take a lot of time.
I think it's really just the mini-boss fights that are annoying on Apocalyptic, I have heard that the regular bosses are just about the same on any difficulty and like you said, regular monsters aren't a problem because checkpoints are frequent.

Yea ive only had one part so far that annoyed the hell out of me. The area in twilight cathedral when gettin the 3 swords and u fight the big fat dude in the steel armor, then u get the sword and 2 of them spawn. They killed me like 3 times before i could finally kill them. Theyd hit me twice and drain my whole health bar...very irritating. And the boss with wings(Titiam or whatever?) took so much damage it took like 20 minutes to kill it.

If you have somethin like extra weapon xp equipped to one of ur 3 weapons does it gain it on all the weapons u use? Or do u only get the extra xp for killin with that weapon that its equipped to?

Quote by AW Fubucious:
I did mines on apocalyptic and got the whole 1000 in one playthrough. Just make sure you know the 4 missable achievements. They do have a grinding spot with the spiders to do your weapon grinding.

I'm fairly certain it is only the equipped weapon, but I may be wrong.
I do know the thing that automatically generates Wrath over time always work whether you're using the weapon it's on or not. But I'd put the xp booster on one thing and use that till it's full to be sure.

Yea i wasnt sure because i have the wrath thing equipped to my sword and its always generatin wrath but i hardly use the sword. I just got the tremor gauntlets earlier before i stopped playin for the day and couldnt really tell if it was gettin extra xp or not seein as i have the xp booster equipped to the harvester and it seems like its levelin more than the other 2 weapons.

here's some tips I had posted on X360A to help with the 160 kills on beast Achievement:
So what you want to do is quickly sweep the reticle over a group of enemies, and just quickly release and re-pull the trigger to fire off some shots, while continuing your sweeping motion.
Especially on the big groups of small bats, you can usually get 4 or 5 full sweeps over them which will help you reach the magic 160 kills towards the end.
What I recommend is making a save on the Broken Stairs level, the last saving point will have you 1 building away from where you need to go. You can just double jump-glide over to the building and run straight up the stairs, avoiding the enemies and chests if you've already got them. Before you go up the stairs, though, check your Stats screen and make a note of how many kills you have so far.
The first area is almost all angel-type enemies. Most will take 2 homing shots to kill so get used to sweeping over all targets on the screen, firing, and sweeping over them again quickly. By the time you enter the next area and see the auto-save icon down in the corner, you should have 40-50 kills. If you do, go ahead and make a new save. If you don't, just reload the Broken Stair save.
The second area will have you following medium-sized lava bat things and there are two different swarms of small bats that will fly around you at different points, these are the main source of your kills so use the tactic of sweeping over them in a circular motion quickly and releasing/re-grabbing the trigger fast. This area ends and the last area begins when you get to the second lava area. Check your kills again and if you have 100+ then go ahead and make a new save, overwriting your Echo Chambers one. If you don't have 100 at this point, reload that save and try again.
At the very beginning of the third area you'll be fighting this big dragon thing, after firing off your initial homing shot I would recommend just shooting regular shots as fast as possible. After that you'll get three more good attempts at the big bat swarm so make your shots count!
The Achievement pops as soon as you get 160 kills so if it hasn't by the time you go through the last hole and start heading into the greyish city area where you can see Tiamat in the background, then go ahead and reload your latest save.
