Keep it cool. No personal attacks and no flaming. Continued discussion on the thread topic is fine, but keep it on track.

not trying to take sides- no one likes to dish out money for something only to have it not work properly or not work at all. when i went through my rrod dilemna, it was with an early production 360.the first 6 times i sent it in, they(microsoft) sent me back the same 360 with the same serial # and just replaced the chipset/resoldered it.by the time my 7th one bit the dust, microsoft had already started using the new, cooler chipset so they sent me a refurb unit with this setup and i have been using it since Feb. 07 with no hiccups. so yea there are/were problem boxes out there but the majority of them for rrod and i feel microsoft has fixed the problem.yea i know some people have different issues(drives freezing after prolonged use) but those people are in the very low percentage compared to the amount of xbox 360's that have been sold and have had the rrod problem. i think the ps2 had a much higher failure rate with their drives but your going to get that kind of stuff as these companies are trying to push the envelope with graphics, features, new technology, affordability, competion, etc.., look at gaming systems 10 or 12 years ago and compare them with what we have today-low tech+simple design=less failure rates. high tech+ advanced design= higher failure rate. it's like comparing the life expectancy of a 2000+horsepower dragster motor with that of a 4 cylinder economy car engine.
