I got my dad a Bluray player for Christmas, and one movie (Julie and Julia), and didn't see a lot of difference, but I also didn't compare. The audio was crisp, the picture was crisp, but I didn't really care just because it wasn't a movie that BR can really shine on. I went home a few months later and watched Up, and was floored by the quality of it. I still haven't seen a really good action flick on br yet.
I want to start a collection, but I would only buy BRs at cheap prices (I see many $10 ones of movies I like at Walmart and what not), and I don't know where to put them. I'd have to get them their own shelf, or something.
My book is finished now.
That's the thing. The $10-at-Walmart Blu-Rays are going to be the movies that fail to shine in the upgraded format. The $30-$40 ones are the movies I would want, but the price to upgrade ratio just doesn't pay off in my opinion.
