Pictures of the New, Improved, and Refreshed 360 Dashboard Have Been Leaked!

In case you missed it during Microsoft’s E3 press conference, there’s a bit of an update coming to the Xbox 360 dashboard this fall, to coincide with Kinect. The New New Xbox Experience, if you will.
The hands-free/voice-enabled Kinect compatible version of the dashboard (seen below) will be an optional set up for users who desire it, but it looks like the plain old landing zone when you boot up the console is getting a refresh, too.
Some leaked shots of a new dashboard, version 2.0.12209.0, have appeared on Logic-Sunrise which look very similar to screens that slipped out a few weeks ago showing off the new Family Center for the Xbox LIVE Family Plan, launching in November.
While the general aesthetic of the design appears largely the same, you’ll notice that Microsoft seems to have done away with the content tiles on a diagonal plane, instead opting for a return to a more flat presentation. Really, it kind of resembles the PS3′s XMB interface a wee bit now. Also interesting is the new 360 logo in the corner, bringing back the famous circles. I was convinced a future update would incorporate the new wave design somehow, for consistency.
Further in we can see the Kinect setup process (these screens are from a beta build, so it was still internally referred to as Natal), as well as a Kinect tuner that allows you to “configure your playspace and diagnose audio problems.” Also, notice how the blades, accessed when the Guide button is pressed, have removed the curve /inhale effect of the edges. Though that, much like a lot of what’s depicted here, could be subject to change. There’s no clear indication how old this build is, and if any tweaks have been made since E3.
The source of the shots claims that this update will enable the console to send information about what DVD drive firmware is being hosted in a box, and control access to Xbox LIVE if hackery is detected. Interesting.
Microsoft hasn’t announced a date for the Kinect-ified dashboard update yet, which will presumably include this redesign with it. Stay tuned. Gamescom next month is going to rife with announcements.
Now to be honest, I really like the look of the new dashboard, that is, if once it is released it actually looks like this. It is only July and this isn't set to be released until November so a lot if not all of this could change....Just like the article mentioned, there is no telling how much has been change since E3....Only time will tell, I maybe the only one, but I get excited when I hear about a change like this coming around.
What are your thoughts if this becomes our new dashboard?

Yeah but you know with them incorporating the new Kinect and all it was just a matter of time before they just revamped the whole thing, ya know?
I'm looking forward to the ESPN channel.....blade.....whatever the fuck to call it now, lol

I think I like it better how the content tiles scale away on a diagonal plane, but I imagine this newer version will be faster and easier to navigate, especially with a Kinect.
I still wish we had options for configuring our dashboards. Personally I would like to have the old blades up by default but with a new blades for the "my communities" and spotlight tabs which would look and operate like the current NXE dash.
Also they need to make the friends page load faster.

It looks more like an e-mail set up than a system. Kind of reminds me of how the PS3 dash looks.
I also wish they would stop crowding the middle of the damn dash so we could use our themes that are centered there!

Looks pretty cool. I still like the blades the best, as the dashboard and as the pop-up xbox menu. I always enjoyed when I went to shut off my console the left blade collapsed and the right blade opened with the confirmation message

I prefer the way it looks now. I don't like the new dash at all.

I'm to the point where I could give two shits and a fuck what the dashboard looks like. I spend so little time on it anyway. Maybe a minute after turning on and before turning off my 360. The friends interface on the dashboard is just worthless. I don't care who's in a party with who. I always just use the Xbox button menu.
