Most Americans are dumb. I got through high school without doing any homework or putting 1 ounce of effort into school. High school for me was a social event. I graduated in 1985 + from what I understand - my sister is a teacher in our high school now, it's getting worse. There is no way I should have made it through + 40 years earlier with the same effort I wouldn't have.
1) Don't know how to be nice - You are correct - They don't. Manners are not taught at home or anywhere anymore. My kids have manners because I was taught them and I have passed it onto them. It is a parents responsibility to teach their children proper manners, mannerisms + etiquette; at least the basics. "Please + thank you's" to start out, etc, etc.
2) Parents are confused. I don't beleive so, I think that they weren't taught properly either, thus not passing on proper information to their offspring. Thus, they beget rude children which the rest of us then have to deal with.
3) Competitiveness? Yes, we are Americans, and we are extremely competitive. Mostly from dealing with our lack of education and lack of example.

Just making sure there was a strong emphasis on me paying the mom for the loving. The main reason these kids talk junk and sing on live is due to the fact that I have their mom in the next room doing some singing of their own.

You seem like an intelligent man so lets keep it that way. This has to be the most ignorant things I have ever heard, and for once its NOT coming from someone that 12 its coming from someone that is +40, well done, I have to say that I have been surprised once more.
